Selling your Service or Goods on the Net

If people cannot find your web site, you will not be successful!

Targeted traffic is the key to net income.
E-commerce: doing business on-line, the internet. Whether you are working from home or setting up a web site for your brick and mortar business, consumers on the internet are searching for specific information that they are interested in, want or need. If you have what they are looking for, then they will be targeted (directed) to your site. This is the traffic you want! Targeted traffic!

So you must write your web pages with good informative, solid content to attract your "targeted market". Example: Let's say I am looking to buy a bushel of apples, and I come to your site and find that you sell oranges, then you do not have what I am looking for and I will leave. (of course you could refer me to someone who sells apples that you are affiliated with though) Point being - Specific Keywords. That is how you get ranked best at search engines!
If you used the keyword "fruit" in your meta tag, then that covers a lot of things, but it is not specific enough. Your best keywords are those specific to what you offer. If you specialize in oranges, lemons and limes, then those are your main keywords. Not fruit! But you could use "citrus fruits" and that would be fine.
If you sell jellies and jams made from these citrus fruits and offer free recipes too, then of course use "jellies" and "jams", and "free recipes" as keywords also. In other words, don't use words and descriptions that are misleading or not specific to what you have. It will not result in a sale for you because it wouldn't be what the person actually searched for. Stick to targeted traffic!

Is all this confusing and hard work? Yes it can be and is extremely time consuming if you don't have the knowledge and time to do it. If you do not do this correctly, you will have wasted your time and money. But, if you are serious and willing to put forth your best effort and you know you have a product, information, service, idea, need for additional income, etc., and you feel that the internet is where you want to be, then I am giving you the best!
