Tea Tree Oil

What an amazing gift to us from nature! There is so much to contribute to tea tree oil that I had to devote an entire page to this amazing essential oil.
Lets start with it's basic properties and functions.

Tea tree oil: A natural antiseptic.
A steam distilled oil taken from the leaves and branches of the Australian Melaleuca alternifolia tree. A clinically proven anti-bacterial and anti-fungal substance.

It has anti-inflammatory, immune system strengthening, pain killing, and wound healing qualities. It exhibits anti-viral and expectorant characteristics and can be used as a powerful antiseptic, parasiticide and insecticide. And the beauty of this oil is it's kind to our skin and works naturally with your body.

Centuries ago, the Aborigines in Australia were well aware of the medicinal qualities of these healing trees. It was around 1770 that it was referred to as "tea tree".

It is a fact that there is a connection between our health and the use of everyday household chemicals we clean our homes with. These chemicals are harmful to our health and well being and today there are alternatives by using safer non-toxic products that are biodegradable too.

If you are under the impression that the government is protecting our health and safety, the truth is they are limited to regulate manufacturers or require them to test their prododucts.

A product that kills fifty percent of lab animals through ingestion or inhalation can still receive the federal regulatory designation of "non-toxic". Only thirty percent of the chemicals used in household cleaning products have been tested for negative effects on our health. Less than ten percent have been tested for their effect on the nervous system. Now if that dosn't bother you enough, then you will really be shocked when you learn that harmful chemicals are in your personal care products also!

Over two thousand chemicals that are used in personal care products were tested by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. They found that 884 of the chemicals were toxic, 314 caused biological mutation, 218 caused reproductive complications, 778 caused acute toxicity, 148 caused tumors, and 376 caused skin and eye irritations.

What does all this have to do with tea tree oil? Well, tea tree oil is an example of one of nature's gifts that can be used in so many ways. From disinfecting a sick room to treating a burn or cut, the benefits of this natural oil is impressive! I urge you today to start the process of de-toxifying your home and learn more about the effects of these chemicals and begin using other products to "get the job done" that will be safer for you and your children. In many cases, a natural or non-toxic product will cost less as well! How healthy is your home?
